It is used to make rubber bands because it is soft and elastic.
2) (i) Ferrimagnetism: When the magnetic moments of the substance's domains are aligned in unequal numbers in parallel and anti-parallel directions, the phenomenon of ferrimagnetism is the result.
(ii) Vacancy defects: A vacancy defect occcurs when certain lattice sites are left empty during crystal formation. An atom is absent from its normal atomic site in vacancy defects. The density of a substance falls when an atom is missing, or when there are vacancy defects.
