BIOMEDICAL ADMISSION TEST FOR MED STUDENTS

    SCHEDULE BMAT PREP ASSESSMENT
  • WHAT IS BMAT ?

The Biomedical Admissions Test, more commonly known as the BMAT, is a two-hour examination divided into three parts, used as an aptitude test to determine entry into medical courses in universities. Not to be confused with UCAT, a similar medical examination that is more commonly used in the UK, BMAT is more universal, and is ideal for a candidate that would like to apply to places other than the UK. However, top universities in the UK, such as Cambridge and Oxford require candidates to take the BMAT.

Always screen your ideal universities, and check which test they would require from applicants! For those deciding between the two tests, Tuttee offers a screening test, and sample papers from both exam boards. Please contact our tutors to arrange a test!

  • ABOUT BMAT

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

  •

The aforementioned 3 sections are as follow:

SECTION 1: THINKING SKILLS. Candidates will have 1 hour to answer 32 multiple-choice questions. This section will test general logic, data analysis and drawing conclusions. There will be questions involving basic mathematics. The paper may also involve graphs and statistics, and the candidate will not be allowed to take a calculator into the exam room.

SECTION 2: SCIENTIFIC APPLICATION. Candidates will have 30 minutes to answer 28 multiple-choice questions. This section involves Form 4-level Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. Students are advised to do more than study the revision guide, and go through past papers.

SECTION 3: ESSAY WRITING. Candidates will have 30 minutes to write an essay, choosing from one of three topics. Students are not allowed to bring along a dictionary- this section is usually the most neglected, and where most science-stream students end up getting their lowest grade. Students are encouraged to study model essays and follow their organization.

  • UCAT OR BMAT

    WHICH ONE SUITS ME?

  • Most medical schools in the UK require either UCAT, which is for the UK or another aptitude test, BMAT, which is more universally acknowledged. If you are uncertain whether which test is appropriate for you, explore which schools you are most interested in applying to. UCAT’s five parts are entirely multiple choice, while BMAT’s first two parts are multiple choice, and the last part is a writing task.

It is also recommended that you take an assessment of both tests and see which aptitude test you are more likely suited for. Contact us at Tuttee and we will be happy to send you a sample test of each, for your assessment.

  • HOW TO SCORE HIGH IN BMAT?

    EXCEL YOUR EXAM

  • We offer private individual lessons for applicants who wish to take the BMAT in summer, as preparation for the fall semester. The individual lessons are tailored to each student, and spending more time on weak areas. Both are led by BMAT instructors, who are well-equipped with experience to prepare students for the test.
