The practice of growing plants by using their vegetative parts is known as vegetative propagation. The fact that genetically identical offsprings are produced is an advantage of this procedure. The advantageous traits can therefore be kept. This approach is beneficial since it eliminates the need for two parents. Since just one parent is required, no additional mechanisms, such as the production of unique flower whorls or pollination, are required.
