I/GCSE Physics Question Analyses Topic: Physics - Multiple Choice Questions

Exam Question:

1) The material which is not suitable for making a permanent magnet is

A) Steel
B) Ticonal
C) Lead
D) Alnico

2) Electromagnetic waves used as a diagnostic tool in medicine are

A) X-rays
B)
ultraviolet rays
C)
infrared radiation.
D)
ultrasonic waves.

3) An electron is released from rest in a region of uniform electric and magnetic field acting parallel to each other. The electron will

A) move in a straight line
B) move in a circle
C) remain stationary
D) move in a helical path

Answer:

For I/GCSE Physics, you should know:

1) The best substance to use to create a permanent magnet should be magnetic. Except for lead, every material is magnetic.

As a result, choice (C) is the right one.

2) The electromagnetic waves employed as the most common diagnostic tool in medicine are x-rays. The image of the interior of the body is created by the x-rays, which pass through the skin.

The answer is (A).

3) The electric field exerts a force (F = qE) in the direction of the electron as it enters the field. The magnetic field will have no effect because it is now perpendicular to the particle's direction of motion with regards to the electron.

It will therefore move straight forward.

The answer is (A).

Work hard for your I/GCSE Physics examination!
