GCSE Physics Question Analysis Topic: Physics - Short Questions

Exam Questions:

1) Draw a labelled ray diagram of a reflecting telescope. Mention its two advantages over the refracting telescope.

2) Mention the two characteristic properties of the material suitable for making core of a transformer.

Answers:

For GCSE Physics, you should know:

1) (a) Reflecting telescopes have the following advantages over refracting telescopes: 1. Because a big aperture is not needed to concentrate incoming light, they are simpler to produce.

(b) Because there is no spherical aberration, a clear image is produced.

2) Low hysteresis loss / high permeability and susceptibility as well as low retentivity are the two defining characteristics of the material that makes a good transformer core.
