UCAT/ UKCAT Question Analysis - Q83.1-83.3

On the planet Oribotm to measure height, there are seven Farinks in a Jobobum. A tree is classified as being a plant life that grows to at least hald a Jobobum height, otherwise it is classified as a flower. All plant life processes fruits known as Zechbodies, which are either red or blue. Kendu tree have either leaves or needies. All Guruk flowers have both leaves and suckers. Red Zechbodies never grow on trees where needies are present.

Answer YES if the conclusion follows and NO if it doesn't.

Q83.1 Kendu trees are more than 3 Farinks high.

Q83.2 You will never see a red Kendu tree with needles.

Q83.3 Any Kendu tree with leaves will have red fruit.

Answer:

Q83.1 Yes

Q83.2 No

Q83.3 No

Explanation:

Q83.1 Kendu are trees and we know that trees must be greater than half a Jobobum. A Jobobu, is 7 farinks so half a Jobobum is 3.5 Farinks.

Q83.2 Kendu trees can have needles. The limitation with the colour red is to do with the fruit, not the tree itself.

Q83.3 If a Kendu tree has leaves then it has no needles. We know that red Zechbodies (i.e. the fruit) does not grow on trees when there are needles, but it does not automatically follow that they grow systematically on trees with leaves. It is possible that the Kendu tree has blue fruits.
