The train stops twice between London and Leeds.
- At the first stop, only the tourists who are not British leave the train.
- At the second stop, only the Germans who are not students, the British doctors and the Japanese doctoers leave the train.
Which of the following MUST be INCORRECT?
A. None of the doctors reach Leeds.
B. All students reach Leeds.
C. Out of all tourists, only the British ones reach Leeds.
D. Out of all Japanese travellers, only the tourists reach Leeds.
Answer and Explanation
D. Out of all Japanese travellers, only the tourists reach Leeds.
The easiest way to solve the problem is to draw a small table and write the data provided in the text, as provided:
In this table, 1 and 2 denote at which stop those people left the train.
From the table we can see that A, B and C are correct and that D is incorrect. Indeed, out of all the Japanese travellers, only the students (and not the tourists) reach Leeds.
