(1) Answer : C

  • Explanation: The blood pressure in the arteries is greater than that in the veins.
  • Artery > Arteriole > Capillary > Venule > Vein (Vena Cava)
  • The pulmonary artery is a short and stout (wide) structure that branches into two parts.
  • On the other hand, the pulmonary veins are large blood vessels.

Hence, the pressure of blood is greater in the pulmonary artery as compared to that in the pulmonary vein

(2) Answer: C

  • Red blood cells or RBCs are the most common blood cell type and contain hemoglobin, which is the principal means of delivering oxygen.
  • A lymphocyte is a type of white blood cell, that is important in the immune system
  • A basophil is also a type of white blood cell that is responsible for immune responses during allergic reactions.
  • Thrombocytes, also known as platelets, are crucial for blood clotting.
Thus, the correct option is (C), 'Thrombocytes'.

(3) Answer: A

Hypertension is defined as an increase in the blood pressure in the arteries. It is a severe condition that may lead to heart strokes. Normal blood pressure at rest is within the range of 100-140 mm Hg systolic (top reading) and 60-90 mm Hg diastolic (bottom reading).

So, the correct answer is option A.
