GCSE Biology Question Analysis Topic: Biology - Teeth
Exam Question: How does tooth enamel get damaged? What should be done to prevent it?
Some creatures have teeth; human teeth are more powerful than bone. The human body's strongest tissue is found there. Enamel is the term for the outer coating of teeth. When the pH of enamel drops below 5.5, tooth enamel is harmed.
The activity of the acids in the diet will lower the pH of enamel. The pH will drop and the acid quantity will increase when too much citric acid is added to the food. The enamel on teeth is harmed by some substances, such as soda, which contain large amounts of gas and other compounds that lower pH.
Daily tooth brushing with toothpaste is recommended to stop enamel degradation. Since toothpaste contains some basic ingredients, the pH of enamel is raised.
End of analysis. Great!
