- In a phylum 'Chordata' the animals have a supporting rod running across their back, many animals in the chordata are vertebrates
Vertebrate groups split in to five groups...🦍
- Oxygen absorption- some use gills others use their lungs
- Fertilisation- inside the body (internal fertilisation), outside the body (external fertilisation)
- Reproduction- young born alive (viviparous), lay eggs (oviparous)
- Thermoregulation- controlling their body temperature (homeotherm), body temperature varies with environment (poikilotherm)
Vertebrates- have a backbone that acts as a supporting rod (humans)
Invertebrates- don't have a backbone (starfish)
