1) Banana plant produce fruits even without the ovules being fertilized, since the male flowers are sterile and pollination being impossible. The female flowers, on the other hand, grow into green fruits - bananas! These fruits are formed because of the induction of growth hormones. Since seeds aren't formed, it's described as parthenocarpic. The group of flowers is enveloped in a waxy bract.
